Coming up with secure passwords
A secure password is essential for maintaining account security. You should be able to remember your password and type it consistently, but it should be difficult for other people to guess.
A good password will have a mix of numbers, upper- and lower-case letters, and symbols, and be at least six characters long. It should not be easy to guess: some examples of easily-guessed passwords are plaintext words found in the dictionary, names, birthdates, street addresses, phone numbers, and bank PINs.
A good technique for coming up with secure passwords is to start with a word and mangle it. For example, "e@xmP13" includes upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, symbols, is not in the dictionary, and is at least six characters long.
