Changing the password on a PAP2
NOTE: after changing the password on the PAP2, you will be unable to connect to the PBX until the password is changed there as well. It is important to open a support ticket with the new password.
To change the password on a Linksys PAP2:
- Pick up the phone connected to the PAP2 and dial **** followed by 110#. This will read off the IP. Enter this IP in a web browser.
- Click the "Admin Login" link in the top right corner.
- Click the "Line 1" tab at the top of the page.
- Under Password, set a new password. This can include both letters and numbers, and should be at least 6 characters long. Simple passwords, such as 1234, can allow malicious third parties to connect to your PBX and make long distance calls (usually scams) at your expense.
- Click "Save Settings" at the bottom of the screen. The PAP2 will reboot.
Do not change any other settings. Incorrect settings will prevent your phone from working.
